Programs

Getting Centered Meditation customizes programs to best meet the needs of organizations. We can be a part of your workshop or retreat, or schedule a multi-session program once a week over several weeks. Our most popular options include:

  • A One-Hour Workshop. This is designed to introduce participants to Getting Centered Meditation. Participants learn about the benefits of meditation and experience a variety of simple meditation techniques.
  • A Six-Session Program. This allows participants to experience in depth different relaxation and meditation techniques. A multi-session program is the most effective way for participants to learn to incorporate a meditation practice into their own lives. Many participants continue to practice meditation after the end of the program, and realize the long-lasting benefits.

Sessions are 45 minutes to 1 hour in length. Multi-session programs include the following topics and experiences:

  • What is meditation?
  • The current scientific research on the benefits of meditation to physical health, psychological health and over-all performance.
  • Identification of stressors that impact one’s health and productivity.
  • A variety of experiential guided meditations, including mindfulness meditation, focus on the breath, muscle relaxation, guided visualization and mantra meditation. Participants experience a guided meditation during each session and have the opportunity to practice the techniques between sessions.
  • Discussion about strategies to incorporate meditation and mindfulness into daily life.
  • Discussion about other stress-management strategies.
